If you are looking for a spot for two or 10 this summer rental house is ideal. Very spacious so you won't feel crowded inside or outside yet designed to make a couple feel cozy. The house is ideally located in the country but yet only 5 minutes to the seaside town of Souris. There are 2 grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants for island cuisine, fresh fish store, hospital, craft stores, visitor information to just name a few businesses in the town of Souris. The locals consider themselves the "friendliest folks around" I for one think it is true.... you will feel welcome and don't be shy to ask questions as everyone enjoys a good yarn or two!

Eastern PEI is know for its beautiful long white sand beaches with amazing dunes, you can find 12 anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes from the house. There is one called "singing sands" at Basin Head and if you walk on the sand it will actually sing to you... really!! This beach alone is over 7 miles long so if you like solitude no problem, if you like to swim, play volleyball or jump off bridges into the water then this beach is a must during your vacation. It is also a Provincial Park so a life guard is on duty during the summer months.

If you like seafood then your in luck, stop into one of the local restaurants or pick some up at the fresh seafood outlet only minutes away... Colville Oysters are also only minutes away; you can actually see the fisherman picking them. If it is lobster you crave then be sure to go down to the wharf in Souris and get some already cooked or still kicking!!! This happens in May and June. You can get lobster all summer at the seafood outlet.

Are you a golfer... did you know that PEI is a golfers paradise. There are 21 golf courses around the island and eastern PEI has 9 of them. The Provincial courses, Brudenell, Dundarave, Crowbush Golf Course are only 25 minutes from the house. The Rollo Bay Greens is about 7 minutes from the house and it is a great 9-hole.

As you tour the island you will find lighthouses, picturesque fishing harbours, deep-sea fishing, horse back riding, bird watching, digging clams, tuna fishing, festivals and events just to name a few activities for you to enjoy during your summer holidays... and all close to the Souris River Beach House.
