Prince Edward Island Vacation Rental - Shipwreck Lighthouse Cottage

Sleeps 7

The PEI Shipwreck Lighthouse cottage is in fact the original old lighthouse built in 1915. In years gone by it guided many a fisherman into the Naufrage Harbour. Today … with the original roof top replaced, it has a different appearance. Should you go to the attic via the pulldown stairs, you will see some steel framing that once housed the light.

Physical Description
this PEI vacation rental has a large old fashion kitchen-dining area, a comfy living room with a couch- pullout bed for two, porch, and 1/2 bathroom. Upstairs has a full bathroom, three bedrooms (two queen and one twin). Outside this PEI spot provides a very private outdoor shower along with a large front yard for children to run and play or to have a game of soccer. Beach toys, games and other activities are also here for you and yours to enjoy if you are not touring Prince Edward Island…. Our Gentle Island...Prince Edward Island!

Naufrage Harbour Beach
This Prince Edward Island lighthouse cottage is truly a very unique vacation rental. The view of the ocean and the sound of the waves are spectacular no matter what time of the year. The beach is white sand that is excellent for building sand castles while the Gulf of St Lawrence water is great for snorkeling and swimming. You do have to walk two (2) minutes to access the beach... but worth the walk over the little bridge. Sorry - you won't find any trolls under it but you will see fishing boats coming into the Naufrage Harbour with the catch of the day!

Naugfrage Wharf
Whereas the lighthouse cottage is close to the Naufrage Wharf, you can walk down to buy lobster and other seafood from the local fishermen; to board deep-sea fishing and tuna charters; or to share a yar'n with the captains. A great seafood restaurant, The Shipwreck Café, is also available down the lane. Without question this is a quaint little harbour town – one of the best in Prince Edward Island!

Bald Eagles
The bald eagles are always soaring in the air or perched on the bank looking for a meal. I have seen seven (7) sitting there at once… quite a site to see. They sit on the bank right out the window so you can capture great photos of these magnificent birds. If you are looking out to the ocean, be sure to watch for spray in the air, which lets you know a whale is nearby. The PEI sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking. It is hard to capture their beauty with your camera.

As you relax and unwind from your busy life, the beauty of the ocean will mesmerize you. As you gaze out at the ocean, the tides will let your worries drift away.
