The Confederation Bridge ( http://www.confederationbridge.com /) and Northumberland Ferry ( https://www.ferries.ca/ns-pei-ferry /) are also ways to get to Prince Edward Island by car.

Although your PEI vacation location is in the eastern end of the island, which is considered rural Prince Edward Island, you are still close to amenities; grocery stores and liquor store is 5 minutes away, craft shops, and restaurants. Charlottetown, the capital of PEI is only 30 minutes from the beach house. You will enjoy the nearby cuisine, culture and shopping in some of the quaintest communities in Prince Edward Island. Located along the Points East Coastal Drive, there are hundreds of places to explore!

If you are a golfer then you will think you've struck it rich…. There are 26 golf courses on the island and some of the finest in Canada. The Links at Crowbush Cove, Dundarave and Brudenell River - are a popular draw for both national & international visitors. Crowbush is only 8 minutes from the beach house.

Besides the beautiful beach out your door, Greenwich National Park beach is moments away. The Basin Head "Singing Sands" beach is only 45 minutes away and listed as the #1 beach in Canada and #2 in North America. It is called the “singing sands” for a reason… as you walk on the sands you will hear it sing. Also, it is a popular spot for the visitors and locals to swim and jump off the bridge to let the tides take you out to the sandbar. Not counting Greenwich and Basin Head beach there are 50 other beautiful beaches to explore in eastern PEI...Maybe you just want to jog or walk on the extensive golden miles of beach out your door.

If you like to explore and keep busy there are all kinds of things to see and do on the island. The island is known for the lighthouse landmarks and 30 minutes away you can climb to the top of the East Point Lighthouse to see the breathtaking vista of the island. It is also where the tides of the Northumberland Strait and the Gulf of St. Lawrence meet, in a storm it is impressive with the action of the waves and surf that spin off then crashing together.

Are you a biker, walker or jogger then the nearby Confederation Trail is what you should experience. Not far from the cottage is the most scenic section of the Confederation Trail, which is a biking and walking trail that goes from one end of the island to the other. The Elmira Train Station Museum is where the end of the line is located. It is where the train of PEI ended before the tracks were picked up and the walking biking trail was made for everyone to enjoy. This is located before East Point.

Island cuisine is a must when you come to the island considering we have such fresh seafood, not to mention the fresh beef and vegetables that you'll find at the Farmers Markets or the roadside vegetable stands. If you come in May and June you can taste the fresh lobsters that you can find at any wharf during the season. Red Head and Naufrague Harbours are very close to the beach house. After the season closes the lobster can be found at the nearby St. Peters Bay fish market.

During your stay at this PEI Beach House you will experience breathtaking sunrises and sunsets …

Deep-Sea fishing and tuna charters can be found at North Lake, which is considered the "Tuna Capital of the World." Other harbours offer these experiences as well. If you are interested in doing some trout fishing contact www.ontheflypei.ca for a personalized fishing experience.

What a fantastic spot for a vacation ! The beach house was absolutely beautiful and perfectly accommodated our two families for a beach vacation that we will alw a y s remember . The beds were ver y comfortable , the sheets were lovely , and the kitchen was beautifully equipped with everything we neede d . There were plenty of well furnished areas to hang out both inside and out , the house was perfectly designed so that we all had our own sp aces . We only wish our bathrooms at home were so nice . On top of that it was located in the middle of a sand dune , with miles of white sand beach to ourselves . It was perfect and would highly recommend the beach house and in particular this part of PEI as a must see destination . Thank you so much for sharing it with us .

There aren ' t many times in my career where I get to mix business with pleasure . On this such occasion I got to do just that as I was asked to take pictures of the Sea Dunes Beach House in PEI , which meant of course I had to stay a few days with my husband to capture the beauty of the place at various times during the day - ye s I know, my job sucks :)

As a photographer, I am used to capturing detail, mainly to highlight the good, bu t can sometimes be disappointed by the bad it can capture - they say the camera neve r lies. S ea dunes Beach House did not disappoint. The well thought out layout and attention to detail was instantly obvious as my husband and I stepped inside this d eceiving beauty. You could tell the owners have gone to great lengths to offer something for everyone and really furnished the place with everything you could possibly need - just pack your clothes and your toiletries and you have a magical place to switch off, unwind and absorb the breathtaking views while wrapped in style and comfort of this amazing cottage. The Chef's kitchen offers you a chance to cook amazing maritime delights while sipping your favourite wine straight from the wine fridge. The large bedrooms and sumptuous bathrooms are finished in great detail. The various decks outside mean you can watch a sunrise while sipping your favourite cup of joe, or watch the sunset while sipping cocktails. The various sitting rooms mean that the kids can be in their own zone, playing games or watching a movie, while the grown-ups can sit in style and comfort. The choice is yours.

I would highly recommend this cotta g e to anyone visiting PEI, just don't forget your camera!

The Barr family

We had a wonderful stay in this incredible beach house . The multi - level wrap around decks provided lots of space for any activity whether it be dining , relaxing , or taking in the gorgeous sunsets and views of the beach and dunes . The incredible beach seemed to go on forever and always had lots of s p ace for the few people that used it . The interior is beautifully decorated with lots of attention to detail making it feel luxurious but comfortable . The house has everything from open communal spaces to cozy n ooks providing everyone in a large group with their own s p ace . Stunning inside and out !

TINA , MARI & Family

The beach house is bright , welcoming and cozy . The layout allows for many people to stay comfortably while maintaining their own space and privacy . The functional , fully equipped kitchen allowed us to cook basic and complex meals without any trouble . T h e proximity to the beautiful sandy beach was made b etter by all the extras the beach house has to ensure a fun day at the beach towels , snorkels , sand toys , chairs , and a wagon to pull it all there ! Everything about this property is family friendly and idyllic . From sipping your morning coffee on the deck overlooking the water to roasting marshmallows by the fire ( inside or out ! ) , to jumping the waves or walking the beach for miles , the beach house is everything you and your family need to relax and reconnect .
