Sandbar Beach House is located in the Launching area of Prince Edward Island. This two story beach house offers a spacious kitchen, dining area, living room, 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. This PEI beach house is at the end of a road and surrounded on three sides by trees giving you seclusion. There is a sitting area down at waters edge so you can relax with a coffee and a good book or just sit quiet and listen to the sound of the waves.... heaven!!!
Cardigan is about 15 minutes from the house it offers gas station, restaurants, liquor store, Heritage Museum where you will learn all about shipbuilding that was done here in the early 1900's. Sandbar beach house is about 20 minutes to the town of Montague where you will find all your amenities of a town. Charlottetown is an hour from the beach house, which is the capital of Prince Edward Island. Cavnedish National Park is about hour 20 minutes. Greenwhich National Park is an hour from the cottage.
Eastern PEI brags about the many beaches, harbours, lighthouses, golf courses, National and Provincial Parks that are available for you to enjoy throughout your stay on PEI. Basin Head beach, which is 45 minutes from the beach house was nominated as one of the best in North America, us islanders call it the "singing sands" beach... it will actually sing to you as you walk miles of dunes and white sand. There is a run there as well with a bridge across be sure to jump off and let the current pull you to the sandbar, young and old love this!
As you drive our island roads you're eyes will be drawn to the many red clay roads, be sure to explore. You will also experience many hills and harbours with beautiful vistas for you to enjoy. If you are looking for fresh vegetables be sure to check out the farmers market it Cardigan and Montague or stop along the road at the many vegetable stands at the end of the farmers lanes. The honour system is how they operate.
If you are interested in getting fresh fish head over to Montague on Tuesday or Thursday and the fish truck will be parked by the Petro Can gas bar. You can also get it by Basin Head or St. Peters which is near Greenwich National Park, a must see during your stay.
There is lots to see and do on the island and to end your day you can head back to the beach house and relax with a beverage as you watch the sun set and ...let your worries drift away with the tides!
