The beach house is fully equipped with everything you'll need for your island vacation. It comfortably sleeps 8 and offers 2,200 square feet of living space and an additional 750 square feet of deck and screened-in porch. It is situated on the south shore of Panmure Island, which connects to mainland PEI by way of a causeway. Panmure Provincial Park and Panmure Beach are on the east side of the causeway and St. Mary's Bay lies to the west of the causeway.
You will enjoy the open concept in this two story beach house with its captivating water views. The first level of the rental provides a large great room with a propane fireplace, a dining room and kitchen with all appliances, all offering fantastic views. The first floor also has a master bedroom with queen size bed and full bathroom, as well as a laundry room and powder room combined. The master bedroom has French doors that connect to the deck for early morning tea or coffee. Second floor offers two bedrooms and bathroom. One bedroom with queen and single in the room; other bedroom has a double bed and two single beds and a bathroom is situated in between the two bedrooms.
The deck and screened-in porch are great places to enjoy meals. Enjoy a cool drink on the deck or porch while gazing at the water after a day of exploring PEI or relax with your favorite book or listening to music. As you relax or bask in the sun, you may see great blue herons, patiently waiting for their catch of the day, hares, munching on plants and flowers, and bald eagles soaring above the beach, as well as blue jays, cormorants, sandpipers, hummingbirds and a variety of other birds (there are 333 species of birds) that are home to PEI.
The island offers fresh seafood, vegetables, wild blueberries, local wine and much more to make your island cuisine perfect. Cooking at Red Sand Beach House will be a treat with its beautiful kitchen. It includes stainless steel appliances, plenty of counter space with a large center island, and all the kitchen gadgets and cookware needed to make fabulous island meals. Another cooking option is the charcoal/wood chip burning Weber grill, a few steps from the porch.
Panmure Provincial Park and Beach is only a few minutes away, it spots a long white sandy beach and dunes as well as the Panmure Island Lighthouse museum. Also at the park is the sandbar grill, change rooms and showers and on duty life guards. The beach in front of the house is normally calm and great for swimming, walking, gathering shells and drift wood, digging for clams and scallops, gathering mussels or searching for sea glass and arrowheads. It is also a great spot to launch our kayaks for a tour of St. Mary's Bay. And when you return from the beach, the outdoor shower will come in handy for sandy feet.
Red Sand Beach House is well located for your Eastern PEI vacation. The town of Montague is approximately 25 minutes away with restaurants, shops, an artisan's gallery, a museum, two grocery stores and a liquor store. Boat tours can be booked at the Montague marina to view seal colonies, cruise and dine at sea or simply touring and learning about the area. The towns of Cardigan and Georgetown are approximately 35 minutes away and also have restaurants and a live theatre playhouse, as well as various artist studios. The village of Murray River is 20 minutes away and Murray Harbour 30.
Horseback riding is available in Brudenell. The area also has three top rated golf courses: Crowbush, Dundarave, and Brudenell. PEI hosts a fall food festival, an island wide culinary festival, which is raved about by any quests who have had the pleasure to experience.
There are four designated drives across Prince Edward Island, which are scenic coastal drives around the each region. The Points East Coastal Drive is 475 kilometers long and the one in eastern PEI, which includes the Red Sand Beach House area.
The other three is Charlottetown, Central – 253 km long, and North Cape – 350 km long.
