Charlottetown, the capital of PEI is only 30 minutes from the house. You will enjoy the nearby cuisine, culture and shopping in some of the quaintest communities in Prince Edward Island. St. Peters Bay is just down the road from Cable Head take a stroll along the boardwalk with its many craft shops.

Thanks so much for the use of your lovely beach house. We have enjoyed our time in PEI again and looked forward to returning to your Blue Ocean Cove after our daily adventures. While the beach and the waterfront were enjoyed by all, the ice machine was a favourite amongst the adults! The sunsets were spectacular.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome to your wonderful beach house! We thoroughly enjoyed our return to PEI with the kids… We loved spending our time exploring the beach, playing golf and flying kites in the yard and indulging in far too much lobster in one week! Can’t wait for our return!

Blue Ocean Cove Beach House is only 3 minutes to a local grass airstrip and 45 minutes to Charlottetown and the regional airport, the ease of access is evident. The Confederation Bridge and Northumberland Ferry are also ways to get to Prince Edward Island by car. If you like to explore and keep busy there are all kinds of things to see and do on the island.
If you are a golfer then you will think you’ve struck it rich…. There are 26 golf courses on the island and some of the finest in Canada. The Links at Crowbush Cove, Dundarave and Brudenell River are popular draws for both national & international visitors. Crowbush is only 15 minutes from the beach house.
Besides the beautiful Cable Head beach out your door Greenwich National Park is moments away. The Basin Head "Singing Sands" beach only 25 minutes away and listed as the #1 beach in Canada and #2 in North America. Not counting Greenwich and Basin Head beach there are 50 other beautiful beaches to explore in eastern Prince Edward Island.
Located along the Points East Coastal Drive, there are hundreds of places to discover! The island is known for the lighthouse landmarks and 30 minutes away you can climb to the top of the East Point Lighthouse to see the breathtaking vistas of the island. It is also where the tides of the Northumberland Strait and the Gulf of St. Lawrence meets, in a storm it is impressive with the action of the waves and surf that spin off the crashing together. Are you a biker, walker or jogger then the Confederation Trail is what you should experience? The most scenic section starts in St. Peter’s Bay minutes from the rental property.
Island cuisine is a must when you come to the island considering we have such fresh seafood not to mention the fresh beef and vegetables that you’ll find at the Farmers Markets, in stores or the roadside vegetable stands. If you come in May and June you can taste the fresh lobsters that you can find at any wharf during the season. After the season lobsters can still be found close by.
Deep-Sea fishing and tuna charters can be found at North Lake, which is considered the "Tuna Capital of the World. Other harbours offer these experiences as well. If you are interested in doing some trout fishing contact www.ontheflypei.ca for a personalized fishing experience.
