If you’ve been praying for the perfect beachfront vacation, you found it! The Church was the welcoming beacon as you entered the small seaside community of Annandale, Prince Edward Island for many years. It was moved down the road to a large spacious water front property and renovated into a three bedroom cottage rental that sleeps nine called Annandale Church Cottage.
As you walk into the cottage through beautiful wooden church doors you are greeted with original charming church windows and vaulted ceiling. The church pews were removed and replaced with a large combined living and dining area, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms with a king beds downstairs. Upstairs is a divided kid-friendly zone with a sitting area plus sleeping areas for five. The upstairs bedroom has three single beds plus you will find a single bed in the cubby overlooking Boughton Bay & another single bed in the church tower. This cottage has a private deck and outdoor shower, a very large yard with apple trees and a boardwalk to the beach.
The Annandale Church Cottage rental is located in eastern PEI between the towns of Montague and Souris. Each town has all your amenities, hospital, restaurants, grocery stores, shopping etc. Be sure to take a walk to the Annandale wharf where you can find fishermen arriving with the days catch.
If you like clams you are in luck in front of the cottage you will find long neck clams, bar clams and quahogs. They can be found just below the sand or mud surface between the high and low tidal zone waters. Always take a cooler as you explore the island as you will always come across the islands fresh seafood, produce, berries and other island delights along the road ways. Nine minutes down the road you will also find Sally’s Beach Provincial Day Park.
Annandale Church Cottage is on the Points East Coastal Drive, which is a designated scenic drive around the eastern region of Prince Edward Island. Whether you head into the towns of Souris or Montague the views will captivate you. The eastern area of PEI is known for its lighthouses and fifty beaches the number one beach being Basin Head Beach called “Singing Sands”, which is just past Souris. In the surrounding areas there is a lot to see and do such as the many festivals and events depending on when you take your PEI summer vacation. All summer long on Prince Edward Island there are Ceilidh’s, which is the Gaelic word for kitchen parties.
If you are a golfer, Brudenell and Dundarave Golf Courses are only 30 minutes from the cottage rental and the Links at Crowbush Cove is 45 minutes. There are many picturesque harbours throughout Prince Edward Island and the most famous being North Lake Harbour located at the eastern tip of PEI. It is also known as the “Tuna Capital of the World and worth the 45 minute drive to either go Deep-Sea fishing or see them bring in the large blue fin tunas. The Confederation Trail where you can bike or hike into the many communities is also a great way to see PEI.
The capital of Prince Edward Island is Charlottetown and it is an hour from the Annandale Church Cottage rental. To see the renowned Anne of Green Gables musical plays throughout the summer and a must see activity. Spend a day going through the Historical city and before the show try one of our many restaurants serving island cuisine.
